I’m kind of going through a rough patch right now with a lot of major changes and unsettling things happening. I spent the weekend at my parents house out of necessity and spent most of the time avoiding my parents and driving back to LA to do stuff. Things between my dad and me haven’t been that great lately since he can’t really understand/relate to what I’m dealing with. I didn’t see my dad at all today and felt like an asshole about it, so I texted him:

“Happy fathers day. Sorry I didn’t really hang out with you this weekend… I just kind of need some time to sort myself out.”

He replied:
“Thank you, I understand, I am sure you will sort out your stuff, you are tough, there isn’t anything that you cannot handle”

And then I cried.

It’s been one hell of a year. Working in the music industry means finding yourself at concerts multiple nights a week. I’m pretty sure this is missing quite a few, but here is a list of all the shows I went to this year. Comes out to over 80 excluding festivals:

Oh snap! This may seem like a small feat to most, but I made this tumblr back in Oct 09 without really being into much of the blogosphere or knowing what this blog would be all about. I’ve grown very fond of tumblr [read: sad when I can’t check it for 3 days] and am very excited for my 500th post!

Side note: It’s been rainy in LA and I’m quickly discovering a love of hats. I don’t wear hoodies, and I think hats are a great alternative… I especially like these slanted fedora looking ones. Not sure if they have a specific name.

Yesterday I went to Target to buy some shit for my new place. I needed a kettle and a cheese grater. If don’t know me, tea and cheese are probably my two favorite things in the world. A decent kettle was $12 and a solid cheese grater was about $10 as well. I didn’t know what to do, but in the end I decided that boiling water in a pot for tea sucks and that my current cheese consumption is me cutting a piece of havarti or something and just eating it, SO I got the kettle and can get a cheese grater next time. Such a dilemma! I’m tired of growing up now unless someone wants to give me an extra 1K per month - I even bought some value pack of toothpaste!

Phew, good thing you don’t need tools to eat dark chocolate!!

One year ago. I knew I had to work in music. In that one year, so much has happened.
